ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES : ORAL/FREE PAPER

Guidelines :

 Presentation Categories

  • Scientific Research Abstracts:  Original experimental, clinical, or translational studies (Must include hypothesis-driven research with statistically significant results)
  • Case Report Abstracts: Clinically significant case studies or series

               Should demonstrate unique   diagnostic/therapeutic approaches

  • Vision Innovation Abstracts: Novel technologies, diagnostic tools, or    treatment modalities. Emphasis on practical applications in vision science

Abstract Structure & Content Requirements

  • Title: Clear, concise (max 250 characters)
  • Introduction/Objective: Establish context and clinical/scientific relevance, clearly state hypothesis/research question
  • Materials & Methods: Detailed methodology (study design, sample size, statistical methods) for novel techniques-provide sufficient technical details
  • Results: Present key findings with supporting data, include statistical measures (e.g., p-values, confidence intervals)
  • Conclusion & Significance: Interpret results in context of existing knowledge, Discuss clinical/scientific implications
  • Funding Sources: Mandatory disclosure

Formatting Specifications

  • Character Limit: 3,000 (including spaces)
  • Text Format: Plain text only (remove formatting via Notepad)

· Figures/Tables

  • Maximum 1 combined file (≤1 MB)
  • Acceptable formats: PNG, JPEG, TIFF, GIF
  • Must be high-resolution (minimum 300 dpi)

Conflict of Interest (COI) Disclosure

  • Requirement: Full disclosure for all authors
  • Disclosure Items: Financial relationships (consulting fees, stock ownership), Patent applications/licensing, Institutional affiliations

Presentation Requirement 

  • Oral presentations: COI slide as first slide
  • Digital posters: COI statement in bottom-right corner

Submission Policies

  • Authorship Limits: Maximum 2 first-author submissions per presenter

           Unlimited co-authorship

  • Documentation: Primary author CV submission required
  • IRB/IACUC approval documentation (if applicable)

· Presentation Requirements: 

  • No presentation substitutions without prior approval

Presentation Format

  • Time Allocation: 7 minutes total (5-minute presentation + 2-minute Q&A)
  • Presentation Standards: PowerPoint/Keynote slides (16:9 aspect ratio)
  • Minimum 24pt font size for readability
  • Evaluation Criteria: Scientific rigor (40%) , Clinical relevance (30%),   Presentation quality (20%)
  • Innovation (10%)

  • Procedural Images: Innovative techniques

Technical Requirements

Image Specifications:

  • o Minimum resolution: 1920 × 1080 pixels
  • o File formats: PNG, JPEG, TIFF
  • o No digital alterations (basic cropping permitted)

Caption Requirements:

  • o Clinical history (50 words)
  • o Diagnostic interpretation (100 words)
  • o Teaching points (50 words)

Exhibition Format

  • Digital display in high-resolution monitors
  • Showcase all the Photo and Video abstract in 3D Metaverse Gallery and in High resolution digital display during Optoverse -6 Conference and OptiFair Exhibition.

Submission Guidelines

  • About - Describe about the image or condition in brief.
  • Conclusion - conclusion must clearly communicate the take-home message from the study   
  • Significance/Implication - This section should also include the importance/significance of the  findings, and directions for future work and next steps. This is your opportunity to describe the  significance of your findings to science and/or the translation of your findings to progress in your  field.  
  •  Funding Sources - if applicable, include a short sentence acknowledging the organizations/grants  that funded the research.

  • Authors are not permitted to submit an abstract on previously publish 
  • You may be first author or co-author of multiple abstracts provided that each submission represents  distinct research.  
  • Abstracts must be written in English.  
  • UOF, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to decline abstracts regarded as inappropriate.  
  • Notification for acceptance of abstracts will be made approximately one week  after the closing date for  abstract submissions.
  • Maximum file size : 20 MB in PNG,JPEG,GDF,zip format.
  • Should be original picture.
